Montreal, December 2, 2016 – The Quebec English School Boards Association (QESBA) congratulates the Minister of Education, Recreation and Sports Sébastien Proulx, for the education success consultations that just concluded in Quebec City.

Thousands of citizen’s and education partners have been engaged in discussing how to ensure a bright future for our youth. “It is clear that education belongs to the community at large and it will take everyone to build the education system of the future for our students,” said QESBA President Jennifer Maccarone.

School Boards, Chairpersons and the elected Commissioners are ready to do their part. “We are rightly proud of our teachers and administrators who work tirelessly to give every child the chance for success. Collaboration such as we have been a part of over the past couple of months can only enhance our efforts.

“School Boards still have an important role to play. Schools need to focus on students and the Boards should remain responsible for the organization, delivery, and financing of those efforts. We are ready and look forward to focusing on the future. Bravo monsieur le Ministre. You can count on us,” concluded the President.

QESBA is the voice of English public education in Quebec.
